Saturday August 17 2013 – Last Wednesday’s epic $448 million Powerball draw just keeps on giving, as more of the 34 Match Five winners come forward to claim their $1 million prizes.
Three of the $1 million winning tickets were bought in Georgia. The second was claimed this week by Sean Nelson, who checked his Powerball numbers online after looking in his wallet for a receipt. He follows first Georgia winner Jennifer Pierce from Stockbridge who claimed her prize last week.
Nelson, who is a 26 year old branch manager for an employment agency, bought his Quick Pick ticket from Parker’s #0037, 10 North Godley Station Boulevard in Pooler and plans to take a vacation and pay off some bills with his new found wealth.
Thomas Reiners from Omaha also claimed his $1 million Match 5 prize this week . He purchased his Quick Pick ticket after stopping at the Pump & Pantry, 609 Willard Avenue, Genoa and is the seventh million dollar winner from Nebraska since January 2012.
Reiners told Nebraska Lottery officials upon claiming his prize that he was “pretty excited†when he checked his ticket against the Nebraska Lottery website and found he had matched all five numbers. He plans to use his winnings to save for his and his wife’s retirement.
