$99 Million Mega Millions Jackpot Still Unclaimed

Mega Millions NewsMonday September 23, 2013 – In June LotteryWorld reported that a Mega Millions prize of $99 million won by a ticket purchased in Virginia hadn’t been claimed. Now, an incredible four months after the draw, this life-changing prize is still unclaimed.

Replying to a tweet LotteryWorld reporter Mike Redfern sent on September 17, Virginia Lottery officials confirmed that they are still waiting for the winner to come forward and claim the $99 million prize.

virginialotterytwitterThe winning ticket was purchased at the Food Lion store on 1592, South Main Street, Farmville, Virginia and matched the winning jackpot winners 11 – 15 – 35 – 43 – 49 and the Mega Ball 41. The ticket was one of two to correctly match the five main numbers and Mega Ball drawn on May 17 and share the $198 million jackpot. The other winning ticket holder from the draw came forward to claim their prize and was named as Guiseppe “Joe” Garofalo from Tinton Falls, New Jersey.

As lottery prizes in Virginia are only valid for a period of 180 days, the winner has until November 13, 2013 to claim the prize before it expires and is put back into the prize fund. As the deadline approaches, we advise players who purchased a Mega Millions ticket from the Food Lion store for the draw on May 17 to check their tickets immediately to see if they are the missing Virginia Mega Millions winner!
