Powerball jackpot hits nine-digit figure

Powerball NewsSunday October 6 2013 – For the fifth consecutive time the Powerball jackpot has remained elusive to players, inflating the top prize to a projected $108 million for this Wednesday’s draw.

No ticket holder on Saturday matched the five winning numbers 11, 12, 17, 39, 40 and Powerball 5, sending the jackpot sailing past the nine-digit barrier and well into head-turning territory.

Although there was no jackpot winner, five ticket holders – from California, Iowa, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island – did match five balls to win $1 million each. Unfortunately none of them had decided to gamble on Power Play and, if they had, they’d be taking home $2 million each instead.

Deadline Day For Powerball Winner

Meanwhile, you may remember from our news report on Saturday that time is nearly up for the mystery Powerball winner who has a ticket worth $1 million tucked away, perhaps in an old pair of jeans or deep in their car’s glove box.

The ticket was purchased from the Circle K store in Jeffersonville, Indiana, for the April 10 draw and matched all five main numbers: 1, 36, 40, 52 and 53.

The ticket holder has until by 5pm today local Indiana time to present their ticket at state lottery HQ in Indianapolis or the prize will be forfeit.

So don’t delay, search high and low for that missing ticket as we’re really down to the wire with this one – we’d hate for someone to miss out this some life-changing windfall!

Mega Millions News

Meanwhile, with no jackpot winner in the Mega Millions draw on Friday, there is now an estimated top prize of $14 million available to play for tomorrow.

Last Tuesday’s Mega Millions draw was won by a Maryland ticket and the hunt is on to discover the identity of the mystery winner.

Mega Millions And Powerball Jackpots Continue to Surge

Mega Millions NewsThe dizzying US lottery rollovers continue as not one ticket managed to lay claim to either Mega Millions or Powerball jackpots this weekend.

Mega Millions swelled to $173 million on Friday night’s draw, yet no player matched all five winning numbers of 9, 23, 27, 49, 51 plus the Mega Ball 38.

This was the eighteenth Mega Millions draw in succession without a top prize winner, and tomorrow’s jackpot is projected to reach a whopping $189 million, which currently stands as the biggest lottery prize available to play for this week.

If there’s still no jackpot winner tomorrow night then we could well see Friday’s draw with a staggering $200+ million windfall up for grabs, which will surely leave many lottery fans hot under the collar.

Meanwhile, life in the Golden State just got a little shinier for one lucky Californian, who managed to match five main Mega Millions numbers to win $259,368 under state pari-mutuel law, where the prize depends on ticket sales and the number of winners in each category. Twelve winners of the Match 5 in other states each scooped $250,000 each.

Powerball News

None of the 16.9 million tickets sold seized the $60 million Powerball bonanza on Saturday, bringing this Wednesday’s rollover up to an estimated $70 million. Fortune favored one lucky player who matched all five main numbers 14, 47, 52, 53 and 54 to pocket $1 million.

Recent lottery wins have shattered existing records with the top five US jackpots of all time having been won since March 2012. This is no doubt due to Powerball game changes which have accelerated rollover totals, and with Mega Millions modifying its own lottery from October, we’re surely set to see some astronomical amounts stacking up over the next year.

No Weekend Winners Mean Big Midweek Jackpots

Mega Millions NewsSunday 22 September 2013 – Another weekend without a major lottery winner has sent jackpots spiraling for the following midweek draws.

The EuroMillions top prize for Tuesday is now expected to reach £45 million in a quadruple rollover event after no tickets managed to match the five winning numbers 5, 11, 35, 38 and 45 along with the Lucky Stars 2 and 3 drawn on Friday night. Four lucky ticket holders did, however, match five balls and one Star to each net a tidy £288,743.

Stateside, there’s an estimated $160 million now at stake in Tuesday evening’s Mega Millions after no-one won the $145 million on offer on Friday, making it the competition’s seventeenth draw since its last jackpot win. Five players did manage to Match 5 over the weekend to scoop $250,000 each, with those tickets sold in Florida, Maryland, Michigan, Virginia and Washington.

The $40 million Powerball jackpot also remained elusive to players hoping to bag the windfall from Saturday’s draw, but hefty second prizes went to five winners matching five numbers with all of them receiving $1 million. Wednesday’s rollover will see people playing for a projected $50 million grand prize.

Last Wednesday saw a massive $400 million Powerball jackpot won by a single ticket holder who successfully matched all winning numbers drawn, the fifth largest win in US lottery history. The ticket was purchased at a Murphy Express gas station in Lexington, South Carolina, and the Multi-State Lottery Association has said they are waiting for the player to come forward to claim their winnings.

With so many rollover jackpots up for grabs over the next few days, jackpot hunters will no doubt be making a bee line for ticket sellers this week. For the full rundown of lottery results as and when they happen, head on over to Lottery.net.
