How to play Mega Sena

Playing Mega Sena online could not be simpler. Just follow the steps below to get started:

  • Head to the Mega Sena play page and choose six numbers between 1 and 60. If you don’t have numbers you want to play or are struggling to choose then click the Quick Pick option to have a random set made for you
  • Fill out as many game panels as you want, with each one being a separate game entry, and then choose to enter one draw or subscribe for one month or three months to enter every draw in that time frame
  • Create a Lottery World account or sign up for one if you don’t have one already
  • Deposit funds into your account to pay for your entries, or just click through to use funds that are already in your account if you have played before
  • Checkout the Mega Sena results page on Wednesday and Saturday nights to see if you have won a prize

On occasion, typically around public holidays or other national events in Brazil, draws will be moved to Tuesday and Thursday nights, so look out for this when entering a draw. The draw date you are entering will be clearly labelled on your entries before you buy them.

Mega Sena Prizes and Odds

The Mega Sena jackpot for matching all six numbers always starts at R$2 million and climbs every draw that it is not won. Its not uncommon for the jackpot to go a few months without being won and rise over R$100 million. There are also prizes for matching four and five numbers, which you can see in the table below along with the odds of winning:

Mega Sena Prizes and Odds
Match Estimated Prize* Odds
6 Jackpot 1 in 50,063,860
5 R$40,000 1 in 154,518
4 R$800 1 in 2,332

The prizes for matching four or five numbers in Mega Sena changes from draw to draw as the prizes are pari-mutuel, meaning they are dependent on the number of entries into the draw and the number of winners in each tier. The more entries there are then the bigger the prizes, but having more winners means the payout per winner decreases.

The jackpot starts at R$2 million but for special draws it can be raised as high as R$300 million without having to wait for a certain amount of draws to raise it that high. This only occurs on special dates, such as New Years eve, and will be advertised well in advance.
